About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform computational analysis of bulk and single-cell multiomic datasets to study transcription factor networks in oncogenic transformation and immune system aging.
  • Develop computational pipelines for the statistical analysis of high-throughput data, including gene expression, chromatin accessibility, epigenomic, and proteomic data.
  • Maintain and update computational resources within the University’s high-performance computing clusters, including core libraries and new tools.
  • Assist post-doctoral and pre-doctoral staff with statistical analyses of experimental data.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to develop analytical strategies, optimize algorithms for transcription factor binding dynamics, and perform pseudotiming analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity.
  • Review literature and prepare manuscripts and abstracts for submission.
  • Present research findings at national meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
  • Proven experience in the pre-processing, analysis, and visualization of single-cell and bulk high-throughput sequencing data.
  • Proficiency with analytical suites including Scanpy, Seurat, Signac, DESeq2, limma, and WGCNA.
  • Experience with standard preprocessing tools such as Bowtie2, Cutadapt, Samtools, and Deeptools.
  • Strong understanding and application of statistical techniques to high-throughput biological data.
