About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop novel theoretical and practical AI/ML algorithms focused on human behavior modeling and video classification using deep learning.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system programs for maximum efficiency.
  • Perform complex research tasks including the collection, recording, storage, and analysis of data according to defined protocols.
  • Communicate daily research progress through meetings and written reports to the research director.
  • Optimize research protocols and improve existing methodologies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary professional partners to achieve project goals.

Requirements

  • Master of Science (MS) in computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in research, research methodology, and data collection/analysis.
  • Strong programming skills and a deep background in machine learning or computer vision.
  • Expertise in areas such as supervised/unsupervised learning, large vision models, multimodal foundation models, or transfer learning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications in top-tier machine learning or computer vision conferences and journals.
  • Research experience involving clinical applications, such as depression or pain management.
  • Experience with affective computing, AI for Healthcare, or multimodal human behavior analysis.
  • Experience mentoring students or assisting with grant proposal preparation.
  • Experience analyzing questionnaires and surveys.
