About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and interpret research projects focused on the development and function of novel innate immune cells in the lung and brain
- Conduct specialized technical research including the generation of mouse models of chronic asthma
- Perform non-survival surgical procedures to measure airway resistance using the FlexiVent instrument
- Generate spatial transcriptome and single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) libraries
- Execute bioinformatics analysis for spatial deconvolution and single-cell gene expression profiling
- Utilize laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine assays (LegendPlex), and immunofluorescence imaging
- Prepare manuscripts for publication and assist in the development of grant applications
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including training new personnel and overseeing student trainees
Requirements
- PhD, DVM, or equivalent degree in a relevant biological science field
- Two (2) years of related research experience
- Proven expertise in spatial transcriptome and scRNA-seq library generation
- Strong bioinformatics skills for transcriptomic analysis
- Experience with mouse models and animal physiology
- Proficiency in FlexiVent analysis and non-survival surgical procedures
- Demonstrated ability to write and publish scientific articles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Excellent scientific writing skills with experience drafting grants, fellowships, or formal reports
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently
