About the role

Responsibilities

  • Screen and recruit adolescents and their caregivers for the study
  • Deliver intervention group sessions to adolescent participants
  • Conduct interviews with students and caregivers in person or via phone/Zoom
  • Perform literature searches and enter study data
  • Manage study materials and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Assist with the development of manuscripts, presentations, and posters

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Proven experience working with children or adolescents
  • Ability to travel between Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and other NYC boroughs
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to present information to groups of adolescents
  • Flexibility to work during high school hours (typically 8 AM – 3 PM) and occasional nights or weekends for follow-ups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, public health, or a related field
  • Prior research experience
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to make a 2-year commitment to the project

About the Company

The Columbia University School of Nursing is conducting a study to test the impact of sleep interventions with adolescents in NYC high schools. This research is supported by the Division of Scholarship & Research.
