Research Associate 1

Responsibilities

• Process laboratory specimens following standard methods with high attention to detail
• Isolate plasma from whole blood and perform tissue dissections for Fresh and FFPE samples
• Perform DNA extraction and purification from various sample types
• Execute library preparation and DNA sequencing using iSeq, MiSeq i100, NovaSeq6000, and NovaSeqX platforms
• Maintain accurate sample tracking using LIMS and database queries
• Maintain laboratory instruments, perform routine preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment
• Draft and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Adhere to EHS guidelines and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Requirements

• BS/BA in a biological science or equivalent
• 1 to 4 years of hands-on Molecular Biology laboratory experience
• Proven experience with pipetting, PCR/qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction
• Experience with PCR library preparation for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work onsite in San Carlos with flexible shifted schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills including nested formulas, macros, and pivot tables
• Experience with database querying
• Experience with sample analysis and QC, including electrophoresis and DNA quantification
