About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and process MRI scans acquired by the CLSA Healthy Brains, Healthy Aging program using established pipelines and quality control protocols.
- Recruit older participants, including those with mild cognitive impairment or mobility impairments, which may include conducting home visits.
- Support the launch of research studies by developing SOPs, data capture forms, databases, and training manuals.
- Oversee data collection to ensure adherence to protocols, including documenting deviations and monitoring adverse events.
- Create and manage confidential data capture, ensuring accuracy, validity, and ethical storage of physical and electronic files.
- Supervise and train undergraduate trainees, WorkLearns, and volunteers in basic research tasks and data collection.
- Assist with lab management activities such as inventory tracking, purchasing supplies, and organizing files.
- Coordinate with the Research Coordinator and Director to assist with ethics applications and research seminars.
Requirements
- High school graduation with at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with database management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing demands.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in neuroimaging acquisition and analysis.
- Knowledge of neuroimaging pipelines such as Freesurfer or FSL.
- Proficiency in REDCap.
- Previous research experience in geriatrics, cognitive aging, or working with large neuroimaging datasets.
