About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute study protocol procedures in accordance with UBC CREB, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Tri-council guidelines.
- Review electronic medical records (EMR) and perform telephone screening to recruit appropriate research participants.
- Prepare and conduct onsite research visits to collect data, administer rating scales, and perform study-related procedures.
- Manage sample shipments to central study sites or prepare samples for local onsite storage.
- Maintain ethics applications and regulatory documents, including UBC CREB and VCHRI approvals.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection and entry.
- Provide administrative support and assist with other lab duties as required.
Requirements
- High school graduation with at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to work onsite at the UBC Pacific Parkinson's Research Centre in Vancouver, BC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Health Science, Public Health, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
- Experience interacting with patient populations in a respectful and confidential manner.
- Working knowledge of research ethics and experience in clinical research.
- Completion of TCPS-2, GCP, and privacy courses.
- Proficiency with REDCap, Excel, MS Word, Zoom, and Teams.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail in data collection.
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills.
