Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support the MS & NMO Clinical Trials Group by assisting with the planning, organization, and execution of clinical research studies
• Coordinate recruitment, scheduling, and communication with research subjects
• Perform clinical testing including Multiple Sclerosis Functional Composite testing and Optical Coherence Tomography
• Process biological samples (blood, urine, and CSF) and package samples for international shipping
• Maintain accurate research records, regulatory files, and electronic data entry systems
• Monitor and maintain inventory of technical and laboratory supplies
• Liaise with research teams, local specialized labs, and clinics to ensure timely data and test result collection
• Prepare study source documents, requisitions, and lab kits

Requirements

• High school graduation with additional training in a related field
• Minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a medical clinic or clinical trials environment
• Knowledge of biochemistry and Multiple Sclerosis
• Experience with clinical drug trials
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification
• Proficiency with UBC Finance systems
