Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support research and administrative activities within the Sekhon Laboratory
• Assist with knowledge translation duties, including website and social media management
• Maintain research-related records and databases, ensuring data is entered according to established protocols
• Attend weekly lab meetings to discuss work progress and collaborate with the team
• Assist graduate students with their research projects as needed
• Perform administrative and clerical duties to support the Division of Critical Care

Requirements

• High school graduation
• Minimum of one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with database maintenance and administrative support
• Knowledge of knowledge translation support
• Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and work experience in a research and hospital environment
• Minimum of two years of related experience
• Research experience in immunomodulation for cardiac arrest patients
• Experience in the collection and isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from human study participants in a critical care setting
• Experience with serum and plasma collection and subsequent ELISA-based analyses
• Coursework or experience with quantitative research methods
