Research Assistant/Technician 3

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform cloning of new plasmids and RNA synthesis
• Formulate RNA into nanoparticles and characterize formulations using standardized protocols
• Conduct molecular and cell biology experiments on mammalian cells
• Coordinate and support tissue culture of skin explants
• Set up and perform in vivo vaccine studies and imaging of protein expression
• Assist with the development of novel techniques and methodologies
• Help troubleshoot experiments and maintain laboratory equipment
• Analyze data, compile reports, and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts
• Ensure laboratory safety compliance and manage the shipping of hazardous reagents
• Maintain a clean and fully functional laboratory environment

Requirements

• Completion of a relevant technical program or university degree in a related discipline
• Minimum of three years of related laboratory experience
• Experience with molecular and cell biology experiments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• MASc or MSc in bioengineering, immunology, molecular biology, or related life sciences fields
• Experience with data analysis and figure preparation using GraphPad Prism
• Proficiency in figure design using BioRender
