About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform cloning of new plasmids and RNA synthesis
- Formulate RNA into nanoparticles and characterize formulations using standardized protocols
- Conduct molecular and cell biology experiments on mammalian cells
- Coordinate and support tissue culture of skin explants
- Set up and perform in vivo vaccine studies and imaging of protein expression
- Assist with the development of novel techniques and methodologies
- Help troubleshoot experiments and maintain laboratory equipment
- Analyze data, compile reports, and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts
- Ensure laboratory safety compliance and manage the shipping of hazardous reagents
- Maintain a clean and fully functional laboratory environment
Requirements
- Completion of a relevant technical program or university degree in a related discipline
- Minimum of three years of related laboratory experience
- Experience with molecular and cell biology experiments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
- MASc or MSc in bioengineering, immunology, molecular biology, or related life sciences fields
- Experience with data analysis and figure preparation using GraphPad Prism
- Proficiency in figure design using BioRender
