Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in single-molecule biophysical analysis of force-producing enzymes
• Prepare samples and carry out biophysical assays
• Perform daily maintenance of various cell cultures
• Conduct general molecular biology and recombinant protein preparation
• Use and maintain custom-built instrumentation for optical and magnetic tweezers
• Use and improve custom-written LabVIEW and MATLAB scripts for data acquisition and analysis
• Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records
• Perform statistical analyses of research data

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or have completed undergraduate/graduate studies in biomedical engineering, biophysics, physics, biochemistry, or a similar field
• General wet lab skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of lab research experience
• Basic knowledge of computer programming, particularly with MATLAB and/or LabVIEW
• Experience with biophysical techniques
