Research Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality sponsored research in advanced additive manufacturing and related aerospace applications
• Develop and submit competitive research proposals to federal agencies, industry sponsors, and other funding organizations
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at professional conferences
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research activities
• Support laboratory operations, experimental testing, and data analysis
• Teach undergraduate engineering courses as assigned
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and external industry partners

Requirements

• Ph.D. or other doctorate-level equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced additive manufacturing
• Strong background in experimental research methods
• Ability to conduct and manage sponsored research projects
• Ability to teach undergraduate engineering courses
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Record of scholarly publications in additive manufacturing or related fields
• Experience securing or contributing to externally funded research projects
• Experience working with aerospace manufacturing applications
• Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
