About the role
Responsibilities
- Communicate IGO services and deliverables to MSK scientists and assist with sample submission and assay selection.
- Manage sample accessioning into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and maintain a LEAN storage system.
- Coordinate project workflows and monitor sample progress to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Perform high-throughput quality assurance and control of DNA and RNA using liquid handlers and robotic instruments.
- Compile and share QC reports with stakeholders and troubleshoot complex sample or process issues.
- Utilize digital tools such as databases, kanban boards, and Excel for effective data and project management.
- Mentor and train junior team members in technical and professional skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field with 5-7 years of full-time research experience, or a Master's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in genomics, specifically with RNA and DNA quality control (QC) methods and platforms.
- Experience interpreting and troubleshooting QC results.
- Proficiency with project management and tracking tools (e.g., databases, Excel, kanban boards).
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse scientific teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms.
- Experience working in a high-throughput core facility environment.
