Research Assistant - Infectious Diseases

Responsibilities

• Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and education on study protocols.
• Schedule participant visits and ensure accurate demographic recording in electronic medical records and databases.
• Manage the collection, labeling, transport, and storage of data and study samples.
• Conduct informed consent procedures and obtain signed documentation from participants.
• Enter data into databases and perform quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy.
• Support data analysis, interpretation, and the development of educational materials.
• Assist with clinic tasks, including equipment maintenance and inventory management.
• Execute complex tasks following standard operating procedures and sponsor guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience (or equivalent in education, training, and experience).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work with vulnerable populations in a professional and sensitive manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with adults discussing sexual health and sexual behaviors.
• Knowledge of prevention strategies regarding HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
• Prior experience managing datasets.
• Proficiency in the Spanish language.
• Phlebotomy training.
• High attention to detail with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
