About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support grant-funded research studies by managing participant recruitment and screening for older adults with various co-morbidities.
  • Manage, process, and perform quality checks on neuroimaging data.
  • Assist with the creation and management of analytical data research files using platforms such as REDCap.
  • Collect and enter data with high accuracy and ensure proper storage of physical and digital files.
  • Liaise with research participants to develop positive, informative relationships and conduct monthly follow-up calls.
  • Assist with lab management tasks including inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and organizing files.
  • Support intervention classes, such as exercise classes and education seminars, for older adults.
  • Assist in knowledge dissemination, manuscript preparation, and conducting basic literature searches.
  • Supervise undergraduate students and volunteers in recruitment and data collection tasks.

Requirements

  • High school graduation and a minimum of one year of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and empathetically with older adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and within a team.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Previous research experience in geriatrics, cognitive aging, falls prevention, or cognitive neuroscience.
  • Basic understanding of neuroanatomy.
  • Experience working in a university clinical research laboratory focused on aging.
  • Experience in rehabilitation centers or relevant clinical organizations.
