About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to research projects in Dr. Tauana Cunha’s lab
- Perform analysis and interpretation of genomic data
- Conduct scientific writing for research outputs
- Manage laboratory upkeep, including equipment maintenance (centrifuges, thermocyclers, nanopore sequencer) and supply stocking
- Train and support student research activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 1-2 years of related research experience
- Proficiency in R and command-line/bash scripting
- Experience with molecular lab techniques, including DNA extraction, library preparation, and high-throughput sequencing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in biology, evolution, or a related field
- Experience with genome-scale sequencing of non-model organisms
- Familiarity with or enthusiasm for working with invertebrate animals
