About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cell cultures of musculoskeletal cells
  • Determine changes in cell function using assay kits and analyze the role of ion channels in these changes
  • Analyze and graph experimental data
  • Create and maintain lists of materials required for the laboratory

Requirements

  • Must be a current UM-Flint Undergraduate Student
  • Must have a recommendation from a Biology Faculty member
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell culture
  • Knowledge of microscopic imaging techniques
  • Successful completion of BSL2 safety training
  • Familiarity with cell biology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in Biology and/or Chemistry laboratories
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills
