About the role

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and characterize PDMS-based microfluidic devices using soft lithography, photolithography, and post-fabrication quality control.
  • Develop and optimize bonding protocols for PDMS integration with various substrates, including oxygen plasma-assisted bonding and surface functionalization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design microfluidic architectures and troubleshoot material interface challenges.
  • Provide animal handling and surgical support, including monitoring, pre- and post-operative care, and wound induction in compliance with IACUC protocols.
  • Prepare and apply experimental wound dressings and devices at designated study timepoints.
  • Capture and analyze standardized wound images using digital photography and image processing software.
  • Assist with the collection and preparation of biological samples for histological and molecular analyses.
  • Perform data analysis, communicate findings to the PI, and manage laboratory supply coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with animal care in a laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory procedures.
