Research Assistant

Responsibilities

• Process and store human biological samples according to established protocols
• Accurately record sample information in the biobank database
• Perform basic and translational research experiments in cardiovascular physiology and material science
• Prepare clinical samples, including blood and tissue specimens for histological analysis
• Facilitate benchtop research and manage clinical information pertaining to research specimens
• Compile and present research results efficiently
• Assist with the preparation of manuscripts and presentations
• Communicate effectively with both researchers and clinicians

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience (or equivalent in education and training)
• Intermediate to advanced level MS Office skills
• Manual dexterity for handling charts and using office equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, bending, standing, or moving for extended periods
• Ability to work with non-human rodents, pigs, and mice
• Ability to handle potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious agents, and biological toxins

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as histology, cell culture, immunoassays, biomechanics, imaging, and data analysis
• 1-2 years of laboratory experience outside of academic coursework
• Experience working with patient files, demographics, and clinical information
