About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct wet lab research activities for a National Science Foundation-funded project investigating craniofacial and sensory evolution
- Train graduate and undergraduate students in experimental tasks and laboratory protocols
- Manage animal husbandry for the live Mexican tetra colony
- Perform general laboratory maintenance and housekeeping duties
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or four years of relevant work experience/specialized training
- Experience with fish husbandry and live animal care
- Proficiency in molecular techniques including PCR, cloning, and nucleic acid extraction
- Basic bioinformatics and "dry lab" analytical skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fluorescence and light microscopy, cryosectioning, tissue culture, or transplantation
- Experience processing and analyzing RNA-sequencing and genome-wide sequencing projects
- Experience training and supervising undergraduate students
- Proficiency with statistical software and MS Office Suite
