Research and Development Grow Technician

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of plant growth and care in a research setting, including irrigation, integrated pest management, pruning, harvesting, and drying
• Execute varying growth protocols according to specific experimental designs
• Collect and analyze data using relevant software to track treatment effectiveness
• Troubleshoot grower problems and product issues
• Write and report technical results and present scientific insights to peers
• Adhere to project management methodologies to maintain timelines and milestones

Requirements

• 2+ years of plant growing experience, preferably in an R&D setting
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Horticulture, Plant Biology, Ecology, Botany, Plant Pathology, or a related field
• Strong understanding of plant production systems in controlled environments, such as greenhouses or growth chambers
• Excellent attention to detail and a firm understanding of scientific methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• License to apply IPM products
• Experience in plant or horticultural science and involvement in R&D projects
• Laboratory and testing experience
• Experience with cannabis cultivation
