About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of research regulatory documents, including ethics, permits, and Health Canada submissions
  • Facilitate patient recruitment, informed consent processes, and data collection/management
  • Provide project administration through recordkeeping, onboarding, and collaboration with the Clinical Research Unit
  • Track project communications, research agreements, and financial contracts
  • Manage project finances, including tracking sponsor payments, issuing invoices, and preparing expense reports
  • Maintain clinical trial documentation and perform data entry using clinical trial management software
  • Liaise with trial sponsors and clinical research organizations, including hosting medical monitor visits
  • Assist with lab and program marketing communications, such as newsletters and webpages

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline or completion of a relevant technical program
  • Minimum of three years of related experience
  • Proven experience in clinical trial coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with financial statement interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working specifically on clinical trials and clinical research procedures
  • Knowledge of UBC, PHSA, or VCH administrative procedures
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience with webpage maintenance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
