About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of research regulatory documents, including ethics, permits, and Health Canada submissions
- Facilitate patient recruitment, informed consent processes, and data collection/management
- Provide project administration through recordkeeping, onboarding, and collaboration with the Clinical Research Unit
- Track project communications, research agreements, and financial contracts
- Manage project finances, including tracking sponsor payments, issuing invoices, and preparing expense reports
- Maintain clinical trial documentation and perform data entry using clinical trial management software
- Liaise with trial sponsors and clinical research organizations, including hosting medical monitor visits
- Assist with lab and program marketing communications, such as newsletters and webpages
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant discipline or completion of a relevant technical program
- Minimum of three years of related experience
- Proven experience in clinical trial coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with financial statement interpretation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working specifically on clinical trials and clinical research procedures
- Knowledge of UBC, PHSA, or VCH administrative procedures
- Basic graphic design skills and experience with webpage maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
