About the role

Responsibilities

  • Extract and analyse data from iwoca's loan book, loss rates, customer outcomes, and pricing distributions
  • Build and maintain briefing packs on key topics like business survival rates and regulatory impact
  • Translate complex data into clear, defensible documents and visualisations for non-technical audiences
  • Coordinate with external research partners and quality-assure their outputs
  • Work with the Comms team to respond rapidly to media or policy inquiries
  • Publish data-driven content for the website to support marketing and investor relations
  • Support existing data-driven PR initiatives like the SME Expert Index

Requirements

  • Proficiency working with raw data in Python or SQL
  • Experience cleaning, transforming, and visualising datasets
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity and analytical rigour
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives
  • Academic or practical experience in a quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science)
  • Previous experience in data analysis and AI within consulting, policy, finance, or research
  • Interest in small businesses and SME finance policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with government, regulators, or think tanks
  • Familiarity with economic impact modelling or econometric analysis
  • Experience producing research for external publication or media
  • Understanding of UK financial services regulation
