Research Analyst

Responsibilities

• Census planted street trees in the City of Newark as part of the Rooted in Newark urban forestry initiative
• Collect, record, and enter observation data including species, mortality status, crown vigor, trunk diameter, height, and canopy diameter
• Capture tree photos and record precise location and site type data
• Interface professionally with City of Newark residents and stakeholders during field work
• Refer interested community members to the City of Newark Office of Sustainability

Requirements

• Experience with urban ecology and urban forestry
• Proficiency in tree census techniques
• Ability to collect and record detailed biological and environmental data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with community outreach and public education
