About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level post-award research administration and financial support for the Department of Pediatrics.
- Reconcile and analyze project grant budgets and expenditures, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor expenditures on grants and contracts to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and Uniform Guidance standards.
- Prepare short and long-term financial forecasting to assist Principal Investigators with future spending plans.
- Manage effort planning, including tracking faculty and staff effort and initiating Personnel Action Requests (PARs).
- Coordinate with Sponsored Programs on budget allocations, financial statements, and project close-outs.
- Submit Award Change Requests (ACRs) and process journal entries in compliance with federal guidelines.
- Act as a mentor to lower-level research administrators, providing guidance and workflow expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of post-award research administration experience (Senior level) or 3+ years (Intermediate level).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with M-Reports, M-Pathways, or Business Objects.
- Experience managing projects from sponsors such as the NIH, American Heart Association, or industry contracts.
- Deep understanding of University procurement policies and Uniform Guidance restrictions.
