About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in the development, review, and submission of Federal, State, and foundation grant applications.
  • Prepare detailed grant budgets and budget justifications in compliance with sponsor and university policies.
  • Manage submission timelines to ensure high-quality, compliant, and on-time proposal applications.
  • Compile and format all components of grant submissions, including letters of intent, support, and facilities resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of PI biosketches, other support documentation, and grant submission files.
  • Coordinate with the Post-Award Team to ensure timely submission of required progress reports.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, specifically within an academic grant-funded environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pre-award grant management, including terminology, standards, and tools.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead technical activities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, finance, accounting, public health, or public administration.
  • Prior experience with NIH submission systems, including era Commons, ASSIST, and RePORTER.
