About the role
Responsibilities
- Analyze actual expenditures against budgets and prepare reports for financial planning and compliance
- Interpret and apply University and sponsor policies to ensure research compliance
- Monitor, record, reconcile, and report on funding accounts for research agreements
- Prepare budget variance reports and produce complex statistical or financial reports
- Identify and resolve data anomalies and discrepancies
- Prepare and record regular deposits
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Commerce, or an equivalent combination of experience
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant financial accounting experience
- Experience with financial accounting systems (e.g., FIS) and administrative database management
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
