Representative - Credit & Collections

Responsibilities

• Perform collection activities to ensure prompt, courteous, and compliant account resolution
• Review arrears accounts, enter payment agreements, and process final bills, bankruptcies, medical hardship cases, adjustments, and rejected payments
• Balance and reconcile daily cash activity, investigate exception payments, and process miscellaneous billings
• Maintain files for special account handling and prepare monthly reports
• Work with agencies to receive, voucher, and process grants on customer accounts
• Cover the DSS phone queue and complete daily Credit & Collections assignments

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business or a related field
• 2 to 4 years of customer service experience
• Working knowledge of credit and collection procedures and customer accounting systems
• Knowledge of legal collection processes, including judgments and liens
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and work accurately under deadlines
• Good keyboarding skills and spreadsheet preparation experience
