Reporter, Rural

Responsibilities

• Create compelling rural and primary industry content for multiple platforms including digital, audio, and broadcast.
• Prepare and present stories for key programs such as The Country Hour and Rural Report.
• Identify, develop, and share impactful story ideas with colleagues across the ABC network.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with rural communities and industry stakeholders.
• Contribute to editorial planning to maximize audience reach and engagement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in journalism or agriculture.
• Proven ability to source, analyse, and present complex stories.
• Strong understanding of rural and regional issues and the audiences they impact.
• Ability to build professional networks and develop original content across various platforms.
