Reporter Journalism Internship

Responsibilities

• Produce original, high-quality, and trustworthy lifestyle and culture journalism
• Provide boots-on-the-ground coverage by attending local events and conducting in-person interviews
• Monitor social media and community networks to identify trending local stories
• Assist with community engagement and social media posting on platforms like Instagram and TikTok
• Participate in an established training program to develop reporting and research skills
• Contribute to content planning discussions during virtual and in-person team meetings

Requirements

• Current or graduating post-secondary student eligible to work in Ontario
• Ability to work full-time hours, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays
• Access to reliable personal transportation for community assignments
• Knowledge of Canadian Press (CP) Style
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, combining remote collaboration with local travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong digital storytelling skills and comfort with social media tools
• Ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and community members
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
