Reporter

Responsibilities

• Regularly plan, gather, and assemble stories for day-of news or special assignments
• Work with the team to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound
• Post story content on the station website and social media platforms regularly
• Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop unique enterprise angles and exclusive content
• Develop a network of sources to provide tips and early access to information
• Collaborate with photojournalists to craft visually innovative stories
• Conceptualize visual and creative live shots
• Manage multiple stories and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Occasionally operate MMJ camera and edit using Adobe Premiere

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience preferred
• Strong writing and storytelling skills
• Ability to operate the latest technology
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work varied shifts
• Ability to handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production

Preferred Qualifications

• MMJ (Multimedia Journalist) skills
• Bilingual experience
