Responsibilities

• Produce engaging news content across multiple platforms, including breaking stories, interviews, and bulletins
• Research, write, and present stories that resonate with local and national audiences
• Identify and develop story ideas that reflect the diversity of the local community
• Build and maintain strong community contacts and contribute to editorial planning
• Collaborate with colleagues across ABC News to share content and maximise audience reach
• Contribute to local emergency coverage and engage directly with audiences in the field

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in journalism, including content creation
• Experience with live or recorded presentation
• Strong editorial skills with the ability to research, analyse, and deliver accurate, timely content
• Proven ability to build relationships and generate stories that reflect diverse communities
