About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, certification, calibration, repair, and preventive maintenance on biosafety cabinets (BSCs), cleanrooms, autoclaves/sterilizers, fume hoods, and related laboratory equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems in the field using multimeters, hand tools, and electrical schematics
  • Represent the company professionally on-site at pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, and research customers
  • Complete accurate service reports and certification documentation in line with regulatory standards
  • Identify additional customer needs and service opportunities to contribute to revenue growth
  • Maintain required technical certifications including BSC certification (NSF 49)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in field service, biomedical, calibration, or industrial equipment service
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds and work in mechanical spaces
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 50–75% across the Midwest
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Background as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or Industrial Maintenance Technician
  • NSF 49 certification or CETA CNBT certification
  • Experience with HVAC controls or military electronics
