Repair Operations Program Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end repair lifecycle for Ciena products
• Drive project management and cross-functional coordination with Repair Operations teams, external partners, and engineering groups
• Partner with Engineering teams to advance repair enablement, first pass evaluation (FPE) preparation, and continuous process improvement
• Lead MRB reduction initiatives to enable cost reduction and reduce lead times
• Define, manage, and report on key operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and lean methodologies to surface systemic issues and corrective action plans
• Champion engineering-driven optimization across repair processes and materials flow

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in product, manufacturing, or process engineering within high-tech, telecom, or complex electronics environments
• Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving operational improvements from concept to execution
• Strong understanding of repair processes, logistics, and quality control methodologies
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and serviceability principles
• Hands-on experience with process optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or 8D problem solving
• Fluency in both English and Spanish
• Ability to travel occasionally to repair depots, manufacturing sites, or supplier locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline
• Knowledge of telecommunications hardware manufacturing or service environments
• PMP certification or similar project management qualification
