Repair Assembly Tech II

Responsibilities

• Perform daily disassembly, inspection, documentation, balancing, assembly, and testing of machines within the repair department
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical bulletins to execute assembly and test setups
• Use precision measuring tools, such as O.D./I.D. micrometers, to ensure accurate dimensions and meet exacting tolerances
• Troubleshoot machines on test stands, identifying issues related to high vibration, temperature, or noise
• Plan assembly methods and procedures to ensure efficient progress and meet on-time delivery commitments
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S procedures and perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment
• Document root cause findings and repair information to assist in quote preparation and quality reporting

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• 5+ years of machine assembly experience
• Trade knowledge equivalent to the completion of an apprenticeship program
• Strong mechanical aptitude and machinist skills
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and precise hand movements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a working supervisor
• Experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment
• Experience with gearbox repair
