About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering and technical support for Heavy Duty Engine (HDE) machining operations, including blocks, connecting rods, heads, and turbo assembly.
  • Diagnose and repair CNC and assembly machining equipment to ensure continuous operational readiness.
  • Provide technical drawings and OEM documentation to maintenance supervisors and skilled trades for troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Support critical machine breakdown repairs and participate in troubleshooting efforts for complex downtime issues.
  • Implement machining monitoring systems and assist with specifications for new machine upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the TPM group to plan, schedule, and execute planned maintenance.
  • Work with the Operations team to improve equipment uptime by reducing MTBF and MTTR.
  • Identify critical spare parts and maintain proper inventory levels to sustain operations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience (or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of fluid systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, coolant, and lubrication systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings for equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general electrical circuits.
  • Ability to work the 3rd shift/overnight schedule (Sunday 11pm to Friday 7am) with occasional weekend shifts.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Maximo or SAP.
  • Knowledge of metal cutting, press force monitoring, part marking, fastening, washing, and filter manufacturing processes.
