About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of dialysis machines and water treatment systems for in-centre and home hemodialysis
- Maintain and document an organized program for planned preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with CSA Standards and manufacturer protocols
- Investigate and act upon quality assurance issues related to patient safety and treatment adequacy
- Provide assessments of patient residences for home hemodialysis installation, including electrical and plumbing suitability
- Act as a technical resource for clinical and medical staff and provide technical education to multidisciplinary teams
- Drive to patient homes to perform necessary services and equipment maintenance
- Assist in the research and evaluation of new products and equipment
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized Dialysis Technology program or hold a Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Applied Science, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering
- Two years of experience working as a dialysis technologist with an emphasis on repair and maintenance
- Certified or eligible for CDT certification and C.E.T. certification through OACETT
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer hardware/software
- Ability to assess complex electronic and hydraulic systems
- Physical ability to perform heavy exertion, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fresenius 5008/S, Gambro Artis, or Nikkiso DBB-EXA dialysis equipment
- Experience with MarCor, DWA, Fresenius AquaUno H, Gambro WRO300H, or CWP800 water systems
