Developmental Social Worker Diploma or equivalent, First Aid & CPR certification, Non Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification, Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening, Valid Ontario Class G or G2 Driver’s license, 1 year experience with developmental disabilities

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement individualized, goal-centered programs for adults with developmental disabilities
  • Promote independence and a supportive, nurturing environment for service users
  • Ensure physical needs are met, including meal preparation, personal care, and home cleanliness
  • Assist with emotional and psychological needs and participate in person-directed treatment plans
  • Administer and accurately document medication according to established protocols
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, shift reports, and incident reports using AIMS software
  • Provide transportation for service users to various destinations as required
  • Respond to and assist with any service user emergencies that arise during shifts

Requirements

  • Developmental Social Worker Diploma or equivalent in a Human Services field
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Valid Ontario Class G or G2 Driver’s license with a current Driver’s Abstract
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
