Relief Resident Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Handle resident admission, orientation, and intake interviews while ensuring all information is accurately recorded
• Enforce facility policies and guidelines, providing guidance and mediation to resolve resident conflicts
• Monitor incoming traffic, verify resident identification, and follow safety protocols to maintain security
• Maintain accurate daily logs, occurrence reports, and program documentation including incident and emergency reports
• Perform administrative tasks such as managing occupancy fees, meal tickets, and maintaining program statistics
• Support facility operations through light housekeeping, laundry assistance, and conducting safety/wellness checks
• Liaise with internal teams and external agencies including police, emergency services, and welfare organizations

Requirements

• High school diploma (specialized courses up to six months is an asset)
• 3-12 months of experience in a social service or frontline setting
• Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Current Standard First Aid certification with Level A or C CPR
• Demonstrated skills in trauma-informed care and non-violent de-escalation
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook) and general database familiarity
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and handle potential verbal or physical aggression
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk stairs, and assist with moving resident belongings
