Relief Resident Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Handle resident admission, orientation, and evaluation processes according to established policies
• Conduct respectful intake interviews and assist with basic goal setting
• Monitor incoming traffic and verify resident identification to ensure facility safety
• Provide mediation for resident conflicts to prevent or resolve altercations
• Maintain accurate daily logs, occurrence reports, and program documentation
• Perform light housekeeping duties and assist with laundry and linen needs
• Liaise with internal teams and external agencies such as police or emergency services when required
• Monitor resident medication and tools in accordance with safety procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-12 months of frontline experience in a social service setting
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR (Level A or C)
• Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Demonstrated skills in trauma-informed care and de-escalation
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook) and general database usage
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and handle physical demands such as standing for long periods
