About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical integrity program for piping systems and related accessories, including valves, expansion joints, and PSVs.
- Accountable for site piping mechanical integrity with a focus on early defect detection and elimination.
- Support the maintenance team with repair planning for critical equipment failures and participate in the site OEE program.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on major equipment failures and manage resulting improvement actions.
- Perform equipment criticality analysis and ensure adequate spare parts availability for all critical assets.
- Manage and direct capital projects related to equipment or process changes to improve asset reliability.
- Fulfill TSSA requirements for pressure piping repairs and review welding procedures, NDT reports, and piping specifications.
- Act as a key member in developing and executing shutdown timelines to ensure all critical reliability tasks are completed.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineer with a P. Eng designation or currently pursuing designation.
- 5 years of experience within a chemical plant environment.
- Proficiency with API standards 570, 650, 653, and 620.
- Working knowledge of CSA B51 and TSSA requirements.
- Experience using CMMS software, preferably SAP.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
