Release Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize release pipelines to ensure smooth deployment of software updates
• Define and maintain versioning strategies to ensure consistency across multiple environments
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure timely and stable releases
• Automate and improve build, release, and deployment processes for efficiency and reliability
• Monitor and troubleshoot release-related issues to ensure minimal downtime
• Maintain documentation for release workflows, rollback plans, and deployment strategies
• Implement and maintain feature flagging strategies to enable controlled rollouts
• Work with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI to manage automated releases

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in release engineering, DevOps, or build/release management
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or ArgoCD)
• Strong understanding of Git and branching strategies like GitFlow or trunk-based development
• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation
• Familiarity with build systems for mobile and web applications (e.g., Xcode, Gradle, Webpack)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working in agile development environments
