Relationship Manager II Startup Banking Technology

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain deep, authentic relationships with early-stage founders, seed investors, and ecosystem channel partners.
• Manage the financial performance and risk of your client portfolio, including P&L and expense budget management.
• Drive quality early-stage client origination by owning relationships with key channel partners.
• Act as a thought leader within the venture ecosystem and provide expert knowledge on SVB products and services.
• Organize and host exclusive events to increase portfolio engagement and provide value beyond banking.
• Mentor and train Associates and Relationship Advisors on sales and relationship management skills.
• Collaborate with internal teams across Business Development, Marketing, Risk, and Operations to deliver a cohesive go-to-market approach.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of direct experience in business development, partnerships, program management, or generalist experience working with startups, VCs, or accelerators.
• OR High School Diploma/GED plus 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in business development or managing strategic partnerships.
• Deep knowledge of the Venture Capital (VC) ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a startup founder, operator, investor, or ecosystem builder.
• Banking experience working specifically with high-growth, VC-backed companies.
• Strong existing network within the technology startup ecosystem.
• Domain expertise in technology and the innovation economy.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
