Rehabilitation Assistant, OTA/PTA

Responsibilities

• Support Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with clinical duties and patient treatment
• Provide cognitive treatment to progress clients and prepare them for discharge
• Assist therapists with patient functional mobility and supervise patients during treatment activities
• Manage and maintain clinical supplies, equipment, and treatment areas
• Assist with the provision and maintenance of equipment such as wheelchairs
• Participate in the supervision of Rehabilitation Assistant students
• Attend departmental, program, and hospital meetings as required

Requirements

• Completion of a community college certificate or diploma
• Recognized OTA/PTA diploma or Rehabilitation Assistant certificate program
• Standard First/Aid and CPR certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word processing)
• Experience in acute care settings (preferred)
• Experience working with neurological patient populations (preferred)
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
