Community college certificate or diploma, OTA/PTA diploma or Rehabilitation Assistant certificate, Standard First/Aid and CPR certification, Acute care experience preferred, Neurological patient population experience preferred, Microsoft Office skills
About the role
Responsibilities
- Support Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with clinical duties and patient treatment
- Provide cognitive treatment to progress clients and prepare them for discharge
- Assist therapists with patient functional mobility and supervise patients during treatment activities
- Manage and maintain clinical supplies, equipment, and treatment areas
- Assist with the provision and maintenance of equipment such as wheelchairs
- Participate in the supervision of Rehabilitation Assistant students
- Attend departmental, program, and hospital meetings as required
Requirements
- Completion of a community college certificate or diploma
- Recognized OTA/PTA diploma or Rehabilitation Assistant certificate program
- Standard First/Aid and CPR certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word processing)
- Experience in acute care settings (preferred)
- Experience working with neurological patient populations (preferred)
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
