Rehab Tech-PT Scheduler

Responsibilities

• Manage patient scheduling processes, including validating demographics and setting expectations regarding prior authorizations, referrals, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Ensure 100% validation of prior authorizations, certifications, and referrals are in place prior to treatment.
• Assist therapists and assistants with patient care and other departmental duties under the guidance of licensed clinicians.
• Perform non-clinical patient and family education and coordinate admission paperwork.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Rehab Department, including restocking rooms and gym areas with linens and supplies.
• Manage communications by formulating accurate messages and routing them to appropriate staff via Epic.
• Support quality improvement through appointment reminder calls, rescheduling, and evaluating provider schedules for efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Short-term training in Medical Terminology.
• Minimum of 9 months of experience in a healthcare office or clinic setting with significant clinician interaction.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to function professionally under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in the prior authorization, certification, and referral process.
• Experience using Epic for scheduling and patient management.
