About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling processes, including validating demographics and setting expectations regarding prior authorizations, referrals, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Ensure 100% validation of prior authorizations, certifications, and referrals are in place prior to treatment.
- Assist therapists and assistants with patient care and other departmental duties under the guidance of licensed clinicians.
- Perform non-clinical patient and family education and coordinate admission paperwork.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the Rehab Department, including restocking rooms and gym areas with linens and supplies.
- Manage communications by formulating accurate messages and routing them to appropriate staff via Epic.
- Support quality improvement through appointment reminder calls, rescheduling, and evaluating provider schedules for efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Short-term training in Medical Terminology.
- Minimum of 9 months of experience in a healthcare office or clinic setting with significant clinician interaction.
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to function professionally under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the prior authorization, certification, and referral process.
- Experience using Epic for scheduling and patient management.
