Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal and regulatory advisor for new product launches, features, and initiatives
- Conduct regulatory gap analyses for target jurisdictions to assess product permissibility and risk
- Develop and maintain product compliance frameworks, playbooks, and decision matrices
- Advise Product, Tech, Business and Fiat teams on regulatory constraints and risk mitigation
- Assess regulatory classification of products including spot trading, derivatives, lending, and staking
- Monitor global regulatory developments and proactively flag risks and opportunities
- Coordinate with Licensing Counsel and external advisors to align product timelines with licensing strategy
- Support the development of internal approval processes and product governance workflows
- Prepare regulatory risk assessments and internal memos for senior leadership
Requirements
- Law degree (LLB, JD, or equivalent)
- 3-6 years of experience in regulatory, financial services, or technology law
- Direct experience advising on crypto or digital asset products at an exchange, fintech, or financial institution
- Understanding of cryptocurrency product structures and their regulatory treatment
- Ability to conduct multi-jurisdictional regulatory analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication in English; Chinese is a plus
- Familiarity with regulatory treatment in jurisdictions such as ADGM, SFC, FCA, or VARA
- Experience with product governance frameworks and new product approval processes
- Prior in-house experience in a high-growth technology or fintech company
