About the role
Responsibilities
- Review and assess fintech licensing applications, focusing on sectors such as Stored Value Facilities, Retail Payment Services, Open Finance, and Payment Tokens
- Conduct thorough screening of applicant documentation and perform interviews
- Communicate effectively with applicants and internal regulatory teams
- Collaborate with specialized departments covering AML/CFT, Conduct & Consumer Protection, Fit & Proper Assessment, and IT workflows
- Present detailed findings and recommendations to regulatory stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as an ex-regulator with hands-on expertise in licensing application reviews
- Strong background in fintech regulatory frameworks and innovative payment services
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple specialized review areas
- Availability to work onsite in the UAE for the duration of the 4-month contract
