Meter’s mission is to make the internet a utility: a world where any business can turn on reliable, secure, enterprise-grade internet at any physical location as easily as it turns on power or water. Meter designs and manufactures networking hardware, manages ISPs, and operates networks autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Guide Meter's path to becoming an ISP across the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and other global markets
- Build and manage international risk compliance programs including FCPA, export controls, CFIUS, and sanctions
- Advise on B2B data privacy, GDPR, and CCPA compliance in partnership with the CISO
- Act as marketing counsel for advertising claims, promotions, and brand protection
- Build vendor risk programs for network installers and physical deployment partners
- Serve as product counsel for FCC and safety compliance regarding hardware
- Counsel ML and AI teams on responsible model training and deployment
- Support employment, safety, and OSHA matters with People and Facilities teams
- Manage disputes, litigation, and build repeatable compliance processes
Requirements
- J.D. from a top law school
- Experience at a top law firm
- In-house regulatory experience
- Member in good standing of at least one state bar
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to learn unfamiliar regulatory regimes quickly
- Practical, risk-adjusted approach to legal advice
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks and cost-justified solutions
