Regulatory Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory compliance components of license authorization processes to support group expansion
• Act as a key stakeholder for license applications, business plan updates, and regulatory information requests
• Ensure regulatory compliance and integrity risk reporting obligations are maintained in Japan
• Advise the business on regulatory change initiatives and the management of compliance risks related to new laws
• Develop policies, processes, and guidance regarding regulatory risk obligations for first-line business units
• Manage regulatory compliance risk within the Airwallex Risk Management Framework and escalation processes
• Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program through targeted and thematic reviews
• Conduct compliance training for employees and specific business areas as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 6 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, FinTech, or legal/consulting firm
• Strong familiarity with financial regulatory laws, rules, and industry best practices in Japan
• Data proficiency with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making
• Proven experience developing or maintaining compliance programs, preferably regarding payments activity
• Superior communication skills to explain complex topics to regulators, executives, and front-line staff
• Ability to operate strategically and solve complex regulatory challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience dealing directly with the FSA and other financial services regulators across the Asia region
• Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory expansion, and RegTech solutions
