Regulatory Compliance Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Wise National Trust compliance framework, specifically adapting standards to support compliance with Regulation 9 and Regulation W.
• Provide real-time interpretive guidance on regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Risk Management, Operations, Audit, and Legal.
• Provide effective second-line challenge and assist business units with implementing and documenting supervisory controls and operational processes.
• Ensure the compliance program integrates with other governance programs and adheres to industry best practices.
• Represent and defend Wise’s risk appetite and compliance standards during engagements with partners, regulators, and government bodies.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience in compliance, enterprise risk management, strategy and operations, or program management.
• At least 3 years of experience within the FinTech or financial services industry.
• Proven experience working with federal regulators such as the CFPB, OCC, and FRB.
• Strong understanding of FRB and OCC regulations and their application across diverse products and businesses.
• Demonstrated strategic leadership and the ability to manage large-scale change projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior management, Committees, and Boards.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• J.D. or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation.
• Experience working with international teams and navigating global regulatory environments.
• Familiarity with GRC tools and project management software such as Jira, Confluence, and gSuite.
